my darling dearest

leanne has grown into a little girl now. both of us are sometimes amazed by the words that come out of her mouth and had to ask around the household where she picked up these vocubularies. she can even say three syllabus words and easily repeat after us. she enjoys singing the abc song and would tell herself to sing again when she completes the song.

now she says 'hello mummy, hello daddy,' on the phone to us. she also says 'thank you mummy/ daddy' when you least expect her to. for instance, she said 'thank you daddy for driving' the other day when mr s drove us somewhere. of course, there are also signs of rebellion coming up too! the other day leanne told mrs s 'don't leanne leanne'; that's when i was trying to warn her of my patience running out. she also told her ah jia 'don't say cannot'. on the other hand, she called for 'my darling dearest' when she was outside our bedroom door the other morning.

Then there is this standing joke when benji kor kor was in town. he would always ask to carry her and she would say 'no, will fall'. one day, i continued the line of questioning and asked who would fall and she said 'leanne! fall, crash, no more leanne!'
ps. leanne sang the entire hush little baby rhyme a few nights ago.

christmas 2010

hard to come by group photo

little leanne in her santa claus hat distributing her little biscuits

leanne with brian (formerly known as some more brandon to her) and brandon

long overdues

this is a long overdue update of our little missy, a little bit of catching up of her world in 2010, and a long overdue gathering of the family-sf yee ma, uncle frederick, benji gor gor, sy yee ma and joycelyn jie jie being back for christmas.

All of us together with kau fu, kum mo, brandon, brian (formerly referred to as some more brandon by leanne) and aunty brian went to bintan langoon resort for three days before christmas. it was nice to have our own private villa and little swimming pool that leanne kept asking daddy to go swimming. This is the third time we brought leanne to the pool and at the end of the third day, mr s told me that she was floating on her own with the help of her two little arm floats. leanne really enjoys the pool i remember the first time she went to the children pool with the water slide at parc emily, she demonstrated no fear of the water other than the shock of the cold water when she first took to the water.
other than that, the massage at the pavilion facing the beach was so relaxing, much better than the hotel indoor spa. guess nothing beats having a massage facing the sea with the sea breeze ...............bliss...

Madrid September 2010

Here we are - in Lord Richard Rogers' fantastic Barajas Airport in Madrid. A highlight ...

- now where did i leave my box of strawberries?

In our little room in the little boutique hotel - Leanne is dressed to combat against the famous siesta-inducing Madrid rays.

And the happy family sets out.
At the larger than life Caixa Art forum.

Feeling at home in Caixa Art Forum's book and gift shop.

In the brilliant sunshine of Madrid that bathes nature outside and the art inside the Prado museum vividly into Life!

Happy posing for daddy when she is by mummy's side outside the Prado Museum.

Tapas hunting but we definitely had time to stop and smell the roses and play twistee on a spinning metal cap on the pavement.

london part ii

1st stop: long acre at covent garden, next to the sun tavern

leanne exploring the apartment when we first got there.

the bed that the 3 of us share

the dining room where we feast on four seasons roast duck and zizzi pizzas with shireen, dennis, beatrice, hui2, tze bin and xi yue

2nd stop: marquess' apartment in smith street, kings road

happy leanne!

we were really happy with the decision to rent a short stay apartment. we stayed at long acre in covent garden for the first leg. it was a very newly nicely done up apartment -such a pleasure to stay there. we stayed at smith street in chelsea, king's road in the return leg. the apartment is older but filled with paintings and photos of the owner's family. it's owned by a marquess.
leanne could sleep in the bedroom while we relax in the lounge and we could also cook dinners for leanne for some nights. she liked the soup i concocted: monkfish in celery, courguette and corn soup. though our european friends used to scorn at the vegetables in london saying they were tasteless compared to their home countries; the uk produce taste a lot better than what we get in singapore; especially the organic food which costs only a fraction higher.
