tatami room

we finally got to go to a 'hot spring', though not exactly how i imagined it to be from what i saw in japanese shows. nevertheless, i got to soak in natural spring water in a big concrete tub for four people with our own tatami room that leanne could roam.

we really like the tatami room and were thinking that it would be the perfect room for leanne.

just sleep ximending, taipei

it's a cool little boutique hotel right in the heart of ximending. well done mr s!

taipei with 2nd yee ma and joyce

our little angry nara

it's the first time leanne met her 2nd yee ma (xiu yee ma) and the second time leanne met her cousin joyce. leanne took to them immediately, as though she knew they were family. leanne called joyce - jie jie on the very first day. perhaps she remembered joyce's face whom she saw when she was just two days old.

we whisked off to taipei with them the next day after they arrived. it was a good trip with lots of food and night markets, the yummy beef noodles, the mee sua, the hua zhi, the jamu...yum yum...
and the people in taipei, from the young to the elderly, love babies. they never failed to exclaim 'what a lovely wa-wa' when they walked past us.

backlog- leanne's baptism

leanne with her godpa

japanese chef...?

we finally got leanne baptized on the 3rd of january, just before she turned one.
leanne woke up with a high fever that day and we had to bring her to a GP at Raffles Hospital as it was a Sunday. After that, it was a maniac rush to try to keep her temperature down before getting leanne dressed for church.
we chose ihm, the church where we got married. leanne was very brave and didn't cry when the water was poured over her head. instead she just gave a very indignant look when we went back to our seats to show everyone behind that she didn't really liked the treatment...

come friday, it will be leanne's first birthday. i've been too busy to update the blog though very often, i would have many thoughts about leanne but very often, these thoughts would also slip by before i could write them down.

i don't know when exactly; but leanne's looks seem to have changed from that of a baby to a little girl. she has the sweetest of smiles now and seems to like to have her hair band on her hair. she would take the band and reach for her head, mimicing our actions.

she's very good at stretching her hands out to us to be carried out. i can't recall when that first happened....now she's started waving her hands at us and sometimes i even think that i could hear a 'ba lo' from her. this morning, she woke up and stood from her cot and waved her hand at a while calling ba ba. this should make mr smitten's day.

and words. leanne is trying to speak. she loves to repeat words after us. we could hear a bit of 'drop, book, woo woo, water' and lots of pebble, apple and open.

finally a high chair

leanne finally has a highchair to have her meals in. She especially likes it in the morning when we have breakfast together. she just loves her bread and is beginning to like to sip from a cup. Think she's fascinated by us drinking from a cup.

our first christmas

no christmas tree at our house but one at kow fu's place to take a picture with. leanne seemed happier with the camera case than the presents at the tree. guess she doesn't know what these boxes mean....

my very first fridge with ice cubes, eggs, carrot, sausages, cabbage, milk, orange juice and ice creammmmmmmmmmmmmm...first christmas pressie from daddy and mommy. we think she will enjoy taking the things out of the fridge.
