leanne's pets
leanne squealed with delight when she saw the balloons that i brought home. she greeted the animals with a growl. she touched one of them, which is almost the same size as her, and quickly turned again as it moved. she tested it out several times before she was convinced that they won't harm her. now she enjoys holding the ribbon and bringing them for walks. she doesn't quite like the cow, maybe because it has too many black patches.
joyce lamented that her mother should have got her these when she was four.

happy 1st birthday
tatami room
we finally got to go to a 'hot spring', though not exactly how i imagined it to be from what i saw in japanese shows. nevertheless, i got to soak in natural spring water in a big concrete tub for four people with our own tatami room that leanne could roam.
we really like the tatami room and were thinking that it would be the perfect room for leanne.
taipei with 2nd yee ma and joyce
our little angry nara
it's the first time leanne met her 2nd yee ma (xiu yee ma) and the second time leanne met her cousin joyce. leanne took to them immediately, as though she knew they were family. leanne called joyce - jie jie on the very first day. perhaps she remembered joyce's face whom she saw when she was just two days old.
we whisked off to taipei with them the next day after they arrived. it was a good trip with lots of food and night markets, the yummy beef noodles, the mee sua, the hua zhi, the jamu...yum yum...
and the people in taipei, from the young to the elderly, love babies. they never failed to exclaim 'what a lovely wa-wa' when they walked past us.
backlog- leanne's baptism
leanne with her godpa
japanese chef...?
we finally got leanne baptized on the 3rd of january, just before she turned one.
leanne woke up with a high fever that day and we had to bring her to a GP at Raffles Hospital as it was a Sunday. After that, it was a maniac rush to try to keep her temperature down before getting leanne dressed for church.
we chose ihm, the church where we got married. leanne was very brave and didn't cry when the water was poured over her head. instead she just gave a very indignant look when we went back to our seats to show everyone behind that she didn't really liked the treatment...
