melbourne

a very tired leanne...

excellent dinner at toofey's. one of the cooks there was so smitten by her.

our very own hoodie

what's this on my foot?

till we meet again. thank you yee ma for taking such good care of me....

it was a good and relaxing trip. thankfully the weather wasn't as hot as first expected. there were a couple of days when it was raining and a bit chilly.

leanne warmed up to yee ma, uncle frederick and benjamin immediately and was ayeing everyone and busy crawling and exploring whatever she found on the floor.

think leanne also charmed most of the aussies that we came across.

hello yee ma

this is the first time, leanne met her yee ma, uncle frederick and benjamin. she likes them all and i think they adore her too.

she enjoyed crawling all over the place at yee ma's home too cause the floors were carpeted and her knees wouldn't hurt as much.

she could pull the slightly ajarred bedroom door , turn to take a look at us before gleefully making her way to the family room and onwards to the kitchen where the food was.

off to visit yee ma

leanne finally took her first flight to melbourne. she was pretty goood on the flight. had a bottle and went to sleep after. we think she was one of the better behaved babies on board.

leanne seemed to enjoy the trip too. she was happy sitting in the stroller most of the time as we pushed her around and was really friendly to the people there. she would stretch her hand out to strangers and smile to them. think she charmed almost everyone who saw her...ranging from men at adjacent table in the cafe, the waiter and cook in the restaurant to the air stewardess...and even uncle frederick....

she didn't like the new experience of having her bare feet touching the grass though...i really like the open green area overlooking the vineyard at domaine chandon in yarra valley.

leanne trying to keep her feet as high up and far away from the grass as possible.

farewell sandalwood part II

farewell sandalwood part I

I seem to have an attachment to sandalwood that I can't recall having for my previous homes; not even barker drive or any of the old apartments in Singapore or London.

I remember the first time we went to the apartment. It was on a hot noon day and we just came back from London. The walk from east coast road to sandalwood was a 10 mins walk in the sweltering heat and we wondered if we had made a mistake. But the bamboos, the little plumerias, the simple pool (that some call a water feature) and the apartment made up for the long walk. It’s a small low density development with not many residents; a cosy little place to come home to after work.

Sandalwood has many happy memories for us. Bringing leanne home from the hospital and seeing Leanne changing and growing during the first nine months of her young life.

We’ve started recently to bring leanne for walks to the pool. Leanne likes it there. She is fascinated by the little water fall feature at the end of the pool and enjoys dipping her feet in the water. I started with holding her and swaying her legs in the water. At first, she was a bit tentative and curled up her little legs but very soon, she was happy standing on the steps and kicking and splashing the water.

we're going to miss you, sandalwood....

hectic weekend part II

on sunday, we went marketing with leanne to get leanne's fish supply for the week. this was followed by a short nap before meeting cousin brandon and kow fu and kum mo for lunch at big splash.
the two little cousins looked like baby mafias with their right feet up simultaneously... one while having her meal while the other lounging..

the babies mafia, maybe it's something in the genes...heh...

home with leanne part II

leanne with her new haircut...think she looks even more girly now.

hectic weekend part I

leanne had a hectic weekend this week.
On friday, we went for leanne's haircut. she was pretty good with it, no crying, no fussing; was just curiously looking at the hairdresser all the time.

On saturday, we attended yz's wedding at wesley followed by lunch reception in the former beaufort hotel. food was exceptionally good. we're thinking of going there for another round another day. think the london foodie gang would like it too.....ps. i was the food chairman heh....
and leanne had fun attending the wedding and reception too till she grew tired.
then it was dinner with ah tchia, uncle alvin and auntie jo...

leanne sitting pretty waiting for the bride.

leanne amusing herself and the guests...
