how leanne has grown _jan 2015

She is now a happy bubbly little girl with a wicked sense of humour; affectionate with lots of hugs and kisses for us; and with great empathy.

Leanne is able to pick up things and words really quickly. Leanne is able to understand what we say and develop her thoughts based on her understanding. The teachers feedback during the PTM was that she is like a little adult.

Sometimes she amazes me with the things she would say. For instance:

-When daddy and mommy grow old, she would need a helper as she wouldn’t be able to push both our wheelchairs on her own.
-She told a classmate’s father not to be late for school otherwise the boy would miss his lessons.
-One day, she told Adrian that she giap her finger with her perfect English diction. Upon Adrian's reply- 'excuse me?'. She then corrected herself and said ' I giapped my finger'.

Leanne loves school and has always been happy to go to school and didn’t cry even when she first started at 2 ½ year old.

She loves to play with the girls and boys and is the teacher’s little helper. She loves role playing most. With the children in school, she would always be the mommy when they play family games. Otherwise, she would be playing ninja turtles and power rangers with the boys. At home, she would be Miss Serene while either the grandparents, or us and the helper would be the students in her class.

Last night, we were pretending that I was the masseur giving her a foot and back rub (just like what she saw when we went to wan yang), she quipped in perfect mandarin : 好来,然叫人.

She has a sense of justice and fairness; and would stand up for the kids who got bullied by the more domineering ones in school.
She enjoys reading and first thing she does when she wakes up is to pick a book to read. Her Chinese words recognition is not as strong but she listens well and is often her Chinese teacher translator in class to the rest of the children.

She is a great performer and loves to sing and dance; and can remember her dance steps and words well and takes her school performance seriously.

At home, her body will shake voluntarily when she hears music and she can dance really well to the tune and feel of the music.
