mr s project is finally opened to the public and we made an impromptu visit to see the supertrees light show last friday.leanne was thrilled with the surprise outing and was busy snapping photos of her daddy's super tree.

empathy

I think children have a lot more empathy than we thought they would have. Leanne, at three and a half, would tear when she watches a sad scene on tv.

She is into watching Korean dramas!!! Thanks to mommy dearest :-P. There was a scene in the Korean drama showing the back of a woman walking alone in the dark and Leanne asked ‘mommy, when is she so sad?’

Yesterday, we were watching national geographic. It showed the mother giraffe protecting her baby giraffe from the lions. The mother giraffe trampled on her baby while trying to fend off the lions and upon realizing that her baby had died, the mother giraffe left and the lions came back to feast on their prey. Leanne asked me what happened to the baby giraffe and after I explained to her, she broke down in tears and started howling and said ‘ the mommy will be so sad’… our little darling.

leanne has seen mr s drawing the house for isabel's mommy and she started drawing her own house. She said the four little circles are the windows with rooms behind. her attention to detail also amazes us when she added the little door knob to her door.

 caught me by surprise as she never drew one before, she's been drawing houses with windows and doorwith door knob.

There was one morning I took away leanne's tub of stars leaving her with an empty bowl as punishment for not listening repeatedly. Then I saw her sitting on the floor facing the gate with her empty bowl and her baby rabbit next to her. I heard her telling her babby, the rabbit, that mommy had no star in her bowl. she then took the rabbit's hand to pretend to put some stars into the bowl....

does your boss need a break?

we told leanne last night that she wasn't going to school today and she asked why and said that she wanted to see her friends. mrs s had to tell her that there would be no one in school and the teachers would not be there. leanne then asked 'why?' mrs s answer was ' the teachers need a break'.
this morning while having breakfast, leanne asked mrs s ' does your boss need a break?' her little mind had been working overtime to try to get us to stay at home with her! *-)

indoor playground

this is only our second time bringing leanne to a ticketed indoor playground.  the only reason we went that day was because megan's parents were bringing megan there and we decided to tag along...

leanne liked the monkey pole. she started off quite docile and gradually grew more adventurous and got into her gymnastics moves...heheh......

told leanne that we were going to meet auntie ping ping for brunch and she asked me "小兵兵" ? and she started singing the chinese song about fathers and brothers being soldiers...

This photo was taken just before midnight when mr and mrs s were home late. Leanne went to bed with her grandma at her usual bedtime. Soon after we got home and despite our attempts to be as quiet as possible, Leanne woke up and came looking for us in our room.



After the hugs and kisses with the dearie, we continued our in the dark and didn't pay much attention to her. This is unusal as Leanne would usually want us to talk to her instead. But that night, she just sat on her bed, legs crossed, next to her bunny and waited there patiently in the dark until we noticed her again.
