More Firsts
Leanne took her first few independent steps this week. Her granny has been reporting her progress while Mr & Mrs S have been off at work but today, Mrs S was overjoyed to have Leanne dashing towards her from the couch - our first witnessed steps. How lovely. How we would feel bittersweet heartache when I imagine how these first few steps would eventually lead to her independence (from us!).
In the last week, I was also chirpily lulled out of my slumber one early morning with Leanne standing by the bed beside me repeating "Baybeee, Baybe-eeee, Baybeeeeeee". Music to my ears.
She has also learnt how to make kissing noises to us. Naptimes and on departures and arrivals, we get treated to screams of "No!! (don't go!)" and then "Muah, muah, muah". What a lovely way to go.
And Mrs S's favourite is of course, "Ma ma! Ma ma!" which has now officially displaced her most common utterance "papa, papa, papa ...."
We love Leanne.

leanne's new fringe
mrs s has been trying to save money by cutting leanne's fringe herself. today, we finally brought her to the hairdresser for children at parkway. it's her third visit but today is the first time that leanne sat on the chair on her own.
leanne was so brave. she didn't flinch nor cry but just sat very still and watched the lady cut her hair. the lady was so impressed by her and was wishing all her customers were like leanne.
our sweetie pie
leanne is like a little mouse sometimes. she likes to take things and hide them. these photos were taken in sequence by mr s and it starts from the bottom most..
leanne trying to hid the wet wip behind her cot and checks to see if anyone see her.
there's a wet wipe on the play mat...and leanne soon sees it.
leanne is a lot more confident on her feet now. she has been cruising for a while but was reluctant to walk. now she's starting to enjoy taking steps with us holding her hands and counting her steps. think she feels a sense of achievement with the countdown...
caught her on her feet without support for a spilt second today...
leanne likes to be dolled up. she would attempt to comb her hair with her hair brush and also mine when she sees it on the dresser. she would also attempt to tie her own hair by pushing the bands against her hair.
this is one of the hairdo done by the maid without our 'supervision' but leanne is as usual, full of her cheeky self.
