good morning leanne!

we woke up to such a pleasant surprise this morning.
i woke up tothe sound of leanne's calls. i turned my head and saw leanne right next to me. she had managed to find her way in the cot to get as close to us as possible; and was up on her kneels hanging onto the side rail while calling out to us to wake us up.
the day got even better as leanne kept going baba and mama...
and the day ended with leanne pulling herself up onto her feet while holding onto the side rail of the cot. she enjoyed her new found ability so much that it was difficult to get her to calm down to sleep.
but what a lovely day!

ps. and she covered my face with kisses today!

roll about

survival instinct

we took leanne to ikea last sunday. a decided that leanne was old enough to sit at the front of the trolley plus the fact that there was a safety buckle at the seat.

but our little leanne wasn't so sure. she immediately dropped her teething rusk and grabbed hold of the rail with both hands.

que sera sera

When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me

i always took the lyrics of the song at its face value unitl recently. i think it's actually us, the adults, who ask the questions. maybe not about beauty or wealth, but pondering what she will be when she grows up. what would be her personality, what she would like to do, what she excels in ....

i hope we can provide the loving environment that would nurture this precious little life to the fullest.

leanne's favourite sleeping pose

love the way she hugs her bean bag
we still haven't managed to let leanne sleep on her own during the day and have to carry her to rock her to sleep. it's getting more difficult because she gets easily distracted and gets excited. however, during the times when she is really tired and trying to sleep, she will burrow her face into our chest and cover her face with her hands as if to block out all the light and noise.

does she look like nara?

just woke up from her afternoon nap.

do not disturb

i'm concentrating.....

one of leanne's lower front tooth is coming out. we could see the small little tooth. leanne has been grabbing whatever things that are in reach and they would go till to her mouth. hopefully she won't have too much discomfort and pain in the days to come.

little miss smurfette

somehow this comes to mind when she's dressed in this...

i think i game

she already had a mind of her own

this video was taken when she was about three and half month old.

things to remember

i must write down things about leanne before i forget.

when she was a baby, i used to call her the lighting inspector. she loves the ceiling lights in the living room and she would calm down whenever she saw the lights.

she's little miss thinker because she used to have a frown on her face and seem to be in deep thoughts every so often.

leanne also likes to hold her hand against her ear as if she's on the phone. she was alreadying doing it in the womb when we had the routine scan.

but the thing i love most was when she smiled in her sleep. she doesn't do that much anymore.

weekend of firsts

leanne had a few firsts during the national day weekend:

first ma-ma and ba-ba
first national day
first hair cut

on Saturday morning, leanne, as usual, had her own quiet roll-abouts in her cot before she got bored and woke us up. i brought her over to our bed and put her between us and casually asked her to 叫 妈妈 叫爸爸. To our amazement, she turned to a and said 爸 爸 and turned to me and said 妈 妈. I couldn't believe it and tried it again and she said it again. so proud of our little girl.

leanne trying to climb over to our bed

on sunday, i brought her up to the roof terrace to see the national day fire works. think it's a bit too far for her to see cause she was looking at mommy busy snapping the fire works and yati's finger as yati was trying to point the fire works to her....

view from the roof terrace. should have had a bbq....

leanne was a good little girl when she had her first haircut. it's more of a trim and tidying up cause her fringe was getting near her eyes. her hair looks fuller now after the trim. she didn't make a fuss. she was just curious and kept turning to look at the hairdresser trimming her hair. it cost us 20 dollars. should have guessed when they started giving stickers and balloons to children....
